CHS-Alkyd S 491 W 55

An air-drying alkyd resin of pentaerythritol and phthalic acid modified by 49% soyabean oil fatty acids, delivered as medium viscous 55% solution in white spirit. Used as a binder for solventborne coatings applications for manufacturing of economic primers, anti-corrosive coatings, for fast overcoating of primers, white enamels and quick drying lacquers mainly for industrial coatings on metal surfaces. Exhibits solubility in xylene, toluene, butyl acetate, white spirit and miscibility with medium oil length alkyd resins, maleic resins and amino resins and limited with long oil length alkyd resins. Its shelf life is 12 months.
