CHS-Alkyd S 401 X 55

Polyester of pentaerythritol and phthalic acid modified by 40% soya bean oil fatty acids, delivered as low viscous 55% solution in xylene. It is air-drying alkyd for solventborne coatings applications like for manufacturing of air-drying anti-corrosive coatings, especially fast drying economic primers used on metal surfaces. Also suitable as binder for combination with nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber and baking coatings in combination with melamine formaldehyde resin. Dries by oxopolymerization in combination with suitable drier. Exhibits solubility in xylene, toluene, butyl acetate, white spirit and miscibility with short and medium oil length alkyd resins, limited with long oil length alkyd resins. Its shelf life is 12 months.
