KR-271 is a methyl/phenyl-based silicone resin by Shin-Etsu. It imparts excellent heat resistance, high mechanical strength, low hardness and flexibility. It offers good luster. It is used in coating applications. It has a slow cure speed (cure temperature of 250°C and cure time of 60 minutes). KR-271 does not easily breakdown or carbonize even at 250°C. It shows medium compatibility with organic resins. It can be emulsified in xylene. It is classified under UN-1866 specification.
