KR-251 by Shin-Etsu is a methyl-based silicone resin. It offers dielectric and good release properties. It imparts heat resistance. It has a rapid cure speed (cure temperature of 25°C and cure time of 20 minutes). It is a low odor grade, producing little residue when pyrolyzed. KR-251 is suitable to be used for moisture proof and insulating coatings. It forms thin, extremely hard, water-repellent films. It can be emulsified in toluene. It shows low compatibility with organic resins. It is classified under UN-1866 specification.
