DP 12.02 by Pine Rosins is a maleic rosin adduct partially esterified with glycerol. It is obtained by Diels-Alder reaction of maleic anhydride with rosin and esterified with glycerol. They are hard resins and more polar than the direct esters. DP 12.02 is used in paints, varnishes and coatings.
