Phenoxy PK™ HW-38

Phenoxy PK™ HW-38 by Huntsman is an anionically-stabilized and colloidal dispersion of phenoxy resin by Gabriel Chemical. It offers excellent flexibility and surface hardness. It is an amorphous, tough and ductile thermoplastic polymer that possesses excellent thermal stability, good adhesive strength and very good vapor barrier properties. It can be crosslinked by reacting its hydroxyl functional groups with isocyanates, melamine resins and phenolic resins. It is compatible with waterborne polyurethanes and acrylics at pH greater than 6.5 and incompatible with acidic materials. It contains less than 10 volatile organic compounds including non-HAP ethylene glycol butyl ether and dimethylethanolamine by weight. It is suitable for water-based thermoset coatings, plural component coatings and inks. Phenoxy PK™ HW-38 complies with TSCA, DSL, PICCS, AICS, ENCS/MITI and IECSC regulations. It meets 21 CFR 175.300 US FDA requirements for use in food contact and packaging applications. It has a shelf life of one year.
