5065-XV-60 by Huntsman is a linseed oil-based phenolic/rosin modified alkyd resin. The rosin and phenolic modification speed up the rate of air drying and improve the hardness of the dry film. The phenolic modification also enhances the adhesion of the alkyd and imparts some solvent resistance to the alkyd film. Offers fast air dry, good adhesion to most surfaces, good abrasion resistance, fair exterior durability and enhanced solvent as well as water resistance. Typical applications include metals, wood primers, automotive as well as industrial primers, aerosol finishes, aluminum paints. 5065-XV-60 is also used in machine enamels, flooring finishes, marine finishes and toy enamels.
