5045 by Huntsman is a soya oil-based vinyl toluene/styrenated alkyd resin. It is made up of alkyds or drying oils which are copolymerized with vinyl toluene. This modification gives this resin a rapid lacquer type dry and fast film hardness development. Offers fast air dry (15-60 minutes), good film hardness, fair to poor flexibility and good early water resistance. 5045 is used for traffic marking paints, aerosol enamels as well as primers, hammer tone finishes, electrical insulating paints, drum enamels and furniture as well as flat board finishes.
