Silcolease® UV CATA 221

Silcolease® UV CATA 221 by Elkem Silicones is a 20% solution of diaryl iodonium tetrakis (pentafluoro phenyl) borate salt in reactive diluent. Acts as a UV/EB cationic photoinitiator for 100% reactive, low release, UV radiation curable epoxy-functional silicone polymer system. Provides low toxicity with high reactivity for fast cure at low levels of addition. Rapid and stable cure with excellent anchorage to paper and film is achieved by simply passing the coating under high-intensity ultraviolet light (medium pressure mercury vapor bulbs) or under electron beam irradiation. Silcolease® UV CATA 221 is suitable for use in solventless paper and film coatings.
