Eastman™ Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB-171-15)

Cellulose acetate butyrate. CAB 171-15 has the lowest butyryl content in the series of Eastman™ Cellulose Acetate Butyrates. It is supplied in dry, powder form and is offered as a filtered product. Also coatings based on CAB 171-15, which has less solubility and compatibility than the higher butyryl CABs, usually offer excellent resistance to chemicals, oils, greases. CAB 171-15 exhibits the lowest degree of solubility of the Eastman™ cellulose ester family. It is soluble in low molecular weight ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons and nitroparaffins. Used in coatings for automotive plastics, coatings for cloth, coatings for leather, coatings for paper & paperboard, coatings for plastic and coatings for wood, truck/bus/commercial vehicles.
