Cellulose acetate phthalate. Used in enteric coatings. Enteric coating material withstands prolonged contact with acidic gastric fluids, but dissolves readily in mildly acidic to neutral environment of small intestine. Can be applied to tablets or granules from solutions of organic solvents.
