Butvar® B-90

Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) resin. Helps in minimizing cratering and improving coating uniformity. Provides improved adhesion, toughness and flexibility. Retains the clarity of the coating, enables good wetting of the substrates and offers reactive hydroxyl sites for crosslinking with thermoset systems. Exhibits anti-corrosive properties, apply easier, adhere better and dry faster. Offers good holdout, moisture resistance and impact resistance. Protects wood substrates against discoloration. Excellent barrier to bleeding of terpenaceous matter from knots, heartwood and rosin ducts. It is a thermoplastic resin with a broad solubility range. Used as a binder for inks, toners and reprographic coatings. Applications in wash primers and general wood or metal coatings.
