Butvar® B-76

Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) resin. Helps in minimizing cratering and improving coating uniformity. Provides improved adhesion, toughness and flexibility. Retains the clarity of the coating, enables good wetting of the substrates and offers reactive hydroxyl sites for crosslinking with thermoset systems. Offers good holdout, moisture resistance and impact resistance. Protects wood substrates against discoloration. Excellent barrier to bleeding of terpenaceous matter from knots, heartwood and rosin ducts. It is a thermoplastic resin with a broad solubility range. Used as a binder for inks, toners and reprographic coatings and in coatings for wood, metal or plastic substrates.
