PRIMAL™ AC-4800ER

Primal AC-4800 ER is a hard, resistant acrylic copolymer, designed specifically for the formulation of high gloss interior paints and clear coatings. It possesses an excellent balance of gloss, image clarity, flow, block resistance and adhesion, making it ideally suited for interior gloss paints. Being a hard binder, careful attention should be paid to use in exterior gloss paints. Whilst the polymer itself is durable, formulators should satisfy themselves of its flexibility over dimensionally unstable substrates, and film formation characteristics under adverse exterior conditions. Film formation studies have formed a major part of the development of formulations based on Primal AC-4800 ER. Recommendations can be made on the use of external plasticisers, but no attempt has been made to bury these in the base polymer. Designed for use with Acrysol RM-55 and Acrysol RM-825 or RM-8W, different rheological balances can be incorporated into gloss paints that possess excellent gloss, flow and adhesion, in addition to resistance to water, alkali and solvents. Primal AC-4800 ER is also ideally suited for use as a floor lacquer, panel lacquer, floor paint or general purpose interior clear coatings.
