SMA® 4000I by Cray Valley (Total Group) is a low molecular weight copolymer of styrene and dimethylaminopropylamine maleimide with an approximately 2:1 mole ratio. It exhibits water resistance and exceptional thermal stability. It shows improvement in the dispersion of various clays, including nano-clays. It can be diluted in toluene, acetone, MEK, THF and ethyl acetate. Recommended for use in wood (cationic) and paper coatings.
