EBECRYL® 4740

EBECRYL® 4740 by allnex is a weather-stable aliphatic urethane acrylate having a low viscosity due to the allophanate structure. Formulations based on EBECRYL® 4740 exhibit high reactivity and yield tough and elastic polymers. Coatings formulated with it are characterized by chemical-, mechanical-, scratch-, abrasion- and yellowing resistance. It is used in the formulation of radiation-curing coatings (UV and electron beam) for the coating of wood, plastics and mineral substrates via the roller, spray and curtain coating processes. Due to the elastic properties of the product, it is especially suitable for coatings on flexible substrates or as an additional binder to modify the elasticity of radiation curing coatings.
