Bartex® 25

Barium sulfate. Acts as an extender pigment. It is designed to increase the efficiency of titanium dioxide. Possesses controlled particle size, high whiteness/brightness, high specific gravity, chemical inertness and color stability. Bartex® 25 functions in relation to the performance of prime pigments in many areas of end use. It can replace most of synthetic barium sulfate (blanc fixe) applications. Has good Hegman grind, which aids in the dispersion of the material in different systems. The low oil absorption aids in the low amounts of liquid required to wet the system for incorporation. It increases gloss, develops more hiding and either improves or maintains physical properties. The greater surface areas of the finer particle barium sulfate increase viscosity of coatings and inks. It promotes a faster cure in polyester resins. Used in all top coats, alkyds, polyesters, emulsions, and wood stains.
