Sicomin® Red L 2922

Sicomin® Red L 2922 by Sun Chemical (DIC) is a lead chromate molybdate sulfate pigment. It possesses medium fastness properties but high chroma. It consists of mixed crystals consisting of lead chromate, lead sulfate and lead molybdate. It is not a mixture of lead chromate molybdate and lead sulfate and is, for stabilization purposes, coated with silicate. It is insoluble in organic solvents and thus fast to over spraying. It is not suitable to color or coat cement or lime. The heat stability depends on the binder and solvent system used. It is used when the emphasis is on economy rather than fastness to light, weathering, and resistance to sulfur dioxide. It is particularly suitable as the sole colorant present, either in the full or reduced shades, as well as in combination with other pigments for producing oranges and greens. Sicomin® Red L 2922 is used in industrial coatings.
