Diethylene glycol dibutyl ether by Clariant is a hygroscopic mixture of di-(2-butoxyethyl)-ether and dibutyl diglycol (DBDG). Exhibits low freezing point, high boiling point, low viscosity, excellent pH and thermal stability. It is an inert, aprotic, clear & colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. It is miscible in any ratio with solvents such as ethanol, acetone, benzene, ether & chlorinated hydrocarbons and shows little to no solubility in water and high molecular weight aliphatic hydrocarbons. Diethylene glycol dibutyl ether is used as an excellent solvent for non-polar substances. It is listed in EINECS (Europe), TSCA (USA), AICS (Australia), DSL (Canada), ECL (Korea), PICCS (Philippines), ENCS (Japan) and ASIA-PAC (Asia-Pacific).
