SONGSORB® CS 81 by Songwon is 2-hydroxy-4-n-octoxybenzophenone. Acts as a solid UV absorber. It absorbs ultraviolet radiation in the 240~340nm region. Significantly improves the resistance of clear coating against discoloration, cracking, loss of gloss and loss of adhesion. Exhibits synergy with HALS. For better long-term performance, use of UVAs of the benzotriazole type is recommended. Shows excellent solubility and compatibility with high solid coatings formulations. SONGSORB® CS 81 is mainly used in applications where lower requirements on long-term stability are given. It is listed on AICS, DSL, IECSC, ENCS, NZIOC, ECL, EINECS, TSCA and PICCS inventories.
