PAT-ADD DA 817

PAT-ADD DA 817 by PATCHAM FZC is a polymeric, weekly cationic wetting and dispersing agent. It is particularly effective as anti-settling agent to silica-based matting agents and as sedimentation agent in aqueous primers. It shows particularly good wetting and dispersion properties onto acidic pigment surfaces, such as silica, oxidized carbon black or organic pigments with acidic moieties. It contributes to enhanced steric stabilization against re-flocculation. When used in waterborne systems PAT-ADD DA 817 contributes to the creation of a Newtonian flow behavior. Optimizes the milling process, enabling high pigment loading. It demonstrates excellent performances in EP and PUR floorings. PAT-ADD DA 817 is applicable in waterborne, solvent-borne and solvent-free paint, inks and pigment dispersions. The optimal amount of PAT-ADD DA 817 is between 0.3 and 0.7% calculated on the total weight of paint formulation, when used as anti-settling agent for silica or in primers and as dispersant 0.3 and 2%. Use in pigment pastes, such as RMPC (resin minimal pigment concentrates) typically requires a dosage of approx. 5 to 10% PAT-ADD DA 817 on total weight of the RMPC. It is a REACH compliant.
