UV-1164 by MPI Chemie is triazine UV absorber. It provides excellent UV protection for PET backsheet films. It offers outstanding UV durability for PC and PET through its excellent UV and heat stability combined with its good chemical resistance. It is based on 2-(4,6-bis-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-5-(octyloxy)-phenol. It can be used in coatings. UV-1164 prevents the oxidation, chain fission, uncontrolled recombinations and cross-linking reactions that are caused by photo-oxidation.
