SiVance® C1008 Curative

Silicone. Acts as a curing agent. Improves durable flexibility, reverse impact, hydrophobicity and hydrothermal- & thermal stability of epoxy polysiloxane topcoats without sacrificing weatherability. Its use avoids brittleness, cracks and delamination that would otherwise develop after ageing in coatings. Eliminates the need for polyurethane topcoats. Cure rate can be increased with the help of accelerators (benzyl alcohol/ imidazole). Compatible in many epoxy systems by using solvents [MEK (methyl ethyl ketone), xylenes, etc.] or reactive diluents. Fully miscible with hydrogenated bisphenol-A epoxy resins. Can be used solely or in combination with amines. Elevated temperatures are recommended (70 °C for 4h) for ambient curing. Registered under TSCA and REACH.
