POLYSILK® 14

POLYSILK® 14 by Micro Powders is a combination of micronized modified polyethylene and PTFE wax. It is a complex formulated wax composite that provides a high degree of surface slip, scratch and rub resistance with gloss retention and a silky smooth feel. Imparts improved tape release, block- and heat resistance. It achieves maximum lubricity after 12 to 24 hours. Suitable for adding abrasion and anti-block properties to laminate inks at a 0.25-0.5% level. POLYSILK® 14 is used in water-based and energy-curable industrial (including plastic, metal and leather), wood, coil, soft-touch, interior and exterior can and container coatings as well as printing inks and OPV's (including flexo and gravure). It conforms to (EU) 2019/1021 & Stockholm Convention (POP) and has a recommended additional level of 0.5-2.0%.
