Substance WR4-SF Patinal®

Substance WR4-SF Patinal® by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany is used to deposit thin films with both hydrophobic (water repellent) as well as oleophobic properties. It eases the removal of water, smudge, and fingerprints and imparts an “easy-to-clean” characteristics to the surface. Application is mainly in -but not limited to- the field of optical elements. By usage of a suitable adhesion layer material (also available in the Patinal® portfolio), the Substance WR4-SF Patinal® layer shows high performance in terms of water contact angle as well as high durability and resistance to wiping and abrasion. Substance WR4-SF Patinal® layer deposition is accomplished by evaporation in vacuum.
