SpeedCure PBZ

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Lambson (Sartomer)
HSP Distance with RIASORB UV-1577: 0.5
SpeedCure PBZ by Lambson (Sartomer) is a 4-phenylbenzophenone. Acts as a photoinitiator. Upon UV irradiation, it forms a chemically reactive state capable of hydrogen abstraction from an amine synergist. The free radical from the amine provides very efficient initiation of suitable resins. Exhibits a faster cure than benzophenone. Has low odor and little photo yellowing. Absorbs at longer wavelengths than benzophenone. Used together with a tertiary amine synergist in the formulation of UV-curable coatings. SpeedCure PBZ is recommended for wood varnishes, over print varnishes & printing inks and decorative coatings for metal cans and food cartons. Suggested levels of use are 0.5 – 3% w/w Speedcure PBZ together with 2 – 5% w/w Speedcure EDB or DMB.
