Polyacrylonitrile fiber. It is an off-white or gold colored fiber with bright luster. It provides low absorbency, good alkali resistance against weak alkalis, good acid resistance against strong and weak acids, and excellent sunlight resistance. It is non-biodegradable and insoluble in water. It has applications in industrial- and intumescent paints.
