Dehydrated Castor Oil (DOC). Acts as a rheology modifier/thickener organowax castor oil derivative. Imparts goods flexibility, fine gloss, toughness, adhesion , chemical- and water resistance and non-yellowing properties. It provides whiteness and superior finish, alkali- and corrosion resistance. It is compatible with all the basic resins, rosins, rosin–esters, hydrocarbon and phenolics. It permits for higher dilution and eliminates brush drags. It is a yellow oily liquid with a characteristic odor. It is suitable as a preferred substitute for linseed oil in the paint industries. Recommended for use in the manufacture of lithographic inks, linoleum, fast drying coatings, and as vehicles for pigment coating and inks. Also used in sanitary can lining, traffic paints, light colored and lower acid varnishes, wire enamels, aluminum paints, appliance finishes and marine finishes and petroleum resin-based cold-cuts. DECASOIL is also polymerized to various viscosities generally ranging from 5 poise to 120 poise.
