Zeothix® 177

Zeothix® 177 by Evonik is a small particle sized, high surface area synthetic precipitated silica. Acts as a rheology modifier. Exhibits low abrasion & good long term stability and provides thixotropy & sag control. Offers cost-efficient rheology control and easy incorporation & dispersion at any stage of the process or by post-addition versus other types of silica. It is a cost-effective alternative to fumed silica. It is soluble in water but not biodegradable and remains stable & non-reactive under normal conditions. It is suitable for solvent based systems. The low salt content of Zeothix® 177 makes it ideal for high performance blister resistant gel coats in marine and immersion applications. It is listed in U.S. EPA TSCA inventory list.
