Dynasylan® VPS SIVO 180 by Evonik is an oligomeric methoxysilane-based adhesion promoter. It is specially designed for solvent-based paint formulations, such as coil coatings.
  • It works by migrating to the surface of the applied coating, after which it hydrolyses to form silanol groups that render the surface hydrophilic.
  • The hydrophilic surface is then able to impart a long-lasting self-cleaning effect where dirt and dust are easily removed by rain.
  • It exhibits faster hydrolysis rate compared to an oligomeric ethoxysilane.
  • It does not affect the mechanical properties of the coating.
  • The recommended addition level of Dynasylan® VPS SIVO 180 is 2-4% in the total formulation.
  • It has a shelf life of 12 months.
