Bentone® SD-1

Bentone® SD-1 by Elementis acts as a very easily dispersible, rheological additive for systems containing primarily aliphatic and other non-polar to medium-polarity solvents. It is an organic derivative of a bentonite clay. It provides viscosity increase, reduces sagging of coatings on vertical surfaces and prevents settling of pigments and fillers.

• Cost-effective replacement for conventional organoclay additives.
• It eliminates the need for pregel and needs no chemical activator.
• It can be added at any point in the paint manufacturing process.
• Bentone® SD-1 is used for anti-corrosive paints, bituminous coatings, decorative alkyd paints, do-it-yourself paints, printing inks, primers, fillers, undercoats, traffic paints and wood stains.
• It has a shelf life of 4 years.
