AgiSyn™ 1809 by Covestro is 2-Methyl-1[4-(methylthio)pheny]-2-morpholinopropan-1-one. It acts as a UV curing agent. It can be used to initiate the photopolymerization of chemically unsaturated systems such as a prepolymer - e.g. acrylates - in combination with mono - or multifunction monomers. It is used in UV curable inks and varnishes for applications on paper, metal as well as plastic materials. Its high absorptivity makes it especially suitable for UV curable inks and pigmented coatings. It allows UV curing even in the presence of UV-absorbers. AgiSyn™ 1809 is suitable for graphic arts, e.g. offset, screen inks, and overprint varnishes.
