UCAR Polyphobe™ TR-117

UCAR Polyphobe™ TR-117 by Dow Chemical is a high solids hydrophobically modified alkali-soluble emulsion (HASE). Used as a premium rheology modifier to provide maximum high-shear viscosity for improved film build in interior and exterior waterborne coatings formulations. Offers ease of incorporation and rapid viscosity. Possesses low odor and zero VOC. Provides very good flow, leveling and spatter resistance, high gloss development and microbial and mildew resistance. It can be used in combination with other HASE and cellulosic thickeners for optimum enhanced high-shear viscosity in medium and high PVC vinyl acrylic coatings. UCAR Polyphobe™ TR-117 can also be used as the sole thickener in small particle size acrylic or styrene acrylic formulations for maximum film build and gloss development.
