Castor Oil First Special Grade

Triglyceride of fatty acid. It acts as a plasticizer. Contains ricinoleic acid cis-12-hydroxyoctadec-9-enoic acid, a resource of an eighteen carbon hydroxylated fatty acid with one double bond. Recovered from castor beans by use of hydraulic press in continuous mechanical screw expellers, followed by solvent extraction. Used in lacquers and polyurethane coatings.
