Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC) by Chemceed is a dimethyl carbonate. It is a colorless, fast evaporating VOC-exempt solvent for use in coatings. It has substantial polar nature and moderate H-bonding strength effective in replacing esters, glycol ethers and ketones in formulations. It has a fast evaporation rate, similar to MEK and toluene. Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC) is used in acrylics, urethane and alkyd systems. It also has low toxicity and is partially soluble in water and dissolves most coating resins.
