DISPERBYK® 2118

DISPERBYK® 2118 by BYK acts as a solvent-free wetting and dispersing additive. It is a block copolymer with pigment affinic groups. It deflocculates and stabilizes pigments. It improves gloss, color intensity, transparency and hiding power with a reduced mill base viscosity. It is used for solvent-borne and solvent-free pigment concentrates, automotive- and industrial coatings, flexographic and gravure printing inks (medium-polarity to non-polar). It is recommended for carbon blacks and phthalocyanine pigments. DISPERBYK® 2118 is suitable for food contact printing inks. Its recommended dosage level for inorganic pigment is 5-10%, titanium dioxide is 1-5%, organic pigment is 20-40% and carbon black is 10-75%. It has a shelf life of 36 months.
