DISPERBYK® -2012

DISPERBYK® -2012 by BYK acts as a wetting and dispersing agent for aqueous coatings and printing inks. It is a solution of modified styrene maleic acid copolymer. It offers good stabilization of a wide range of pigments, mainly transparent and opaque organic pigments, carbon blacks. It improves color strength, transparency, gloss, and storage stability through steric stabilization. It is particularly recommended for use in formulations based on cationic binders. It has no negative impact on stability of pH-sensitive systems. It is also suitable for grinds that contain binders (emulsions and water-reducible resins) as well as for binder-free pigment concentrates. DISPERBYK® -2012 is designed for automotive-, industrial-, leather-, architectural-, wood- and furniture coatings. It is also used for aqueous road marking paints, and food contact printing ink applications. Its recommended dosage level for inorganic pigment is 5-30%, titanium dioxide is 4-10%, organic pigment is 50-100% and carbon black is 100-230%. It has a shelf life of 36 months.
