DISPERBYK® -182

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by BYK
DISPERBYK® -182 by BYK acts as a wetting and dispersing agent for solvent-borne and water-borne systems. It is a solution of a high molecular weight block copolymer with pigment affinic groups. It deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization of the pigments. It provides equal electrical charge to pigments and thus avoid possible co-flocculation of pigments that are not equally charged. It offers high gloss and improved color strength. It increases transparency and hiding power of the pigments. It reduces viscosity. It is suitable for food contact printing inks. DISPERBYK® -182 is used in general industrial coatings, automotive refinish, automotive/OEM, pigment concentrates and architectural coatings. Its recommended dosage level for coatings are inorganic pigment: 15-20%, organic pigment: 30-60%, titanium dioxide: 4-5% and carbon black: 80-100%. The dosage level for printing inks are titanium dioxide: 2.5-5%, organic pigment: 7-13% and carbon black: 7-13%. It has a shelf life of 36 months. It complies with the REACH regulations.
