DISPERBYK® -164

DISPERBYK® -164 by BYK is an aromatic-free, wetting and dispersing agent for solvent-borne coating systems. It is a solution of a high molecular weight block copolymer with pigment affinic groups. It deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization of the pigments. It provides equal electrical charge to pigments. It increases the transparency and hiding power of the pigments. It offers improved pigment wetting, gloss and color strength. It reduces viscosity, improves leveling and allows high pigment loading. It is used for general industrial-, automotive refinish-, automotive /OEM-, coil- and wood coatings, and pigment concentrates. Its recommended dosage level for inorganic pigment is 12-15%, titanium dioxide is 3-4%, organic pigment is 20-35% and carbon black is 60-70%. DISPERBYK® -164 has a shelf life of 60 months.
