DISPERBYK® -161 by BYK acts as a wetting and dispersing agent for solvent-borne systems. It is a solution of modified polyurethane. It provides equal electrical charge to pigments. Increases the transparency and hiding power of the pigments. Offers improved pigment wetting, gloss and color strength. Reduces viscosity, improves leveling and allows high pigment loading. Suitable for food contact printing inks, two-pack PU and baking systems. DISPERBYK® -161 is used in general industrial coatings, automotive refinish, automotive /OEM, architectural and protective coatings. Its recommended dosage level is 10-15% for inorganic pigments, 5-6% for titanium dioxide, 30-90% for organic pigments and 70-140% for carbon blacks. The shelf life is 60 months.
