DISPERBYK® -108

DISPERBYK® -108 by BYK acts as a wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-borne systems. It is hydroxy-functional carboxylic acid ester with pigment affinic groups. Deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization of the pigments. Provides equal electrical charge to pigments and thus avoids possible co-flocculation of pigments that are not equally charged. Offers improved pigment wetting, gloss, color strength, and levelling. It reduces viscosity. Suitable for food contact applications in coatings and printing inks. Recommended for non-floating high-solids and aromatic-free architectural coatings. Used for pigment concentrates, industrial, and leather coatings. Also applicable in gravure, flexographic, and screen printing inks. Its recommendation dosage is 3-5 % for inorganic pigments, 0.8-1.5 % for titanium dioxide, 5-8 % for organic pigments and 8-10 % for carbon black. The shelf life of DISPERBYK® -108 is 60 months.
