BYK® -3481

BYK®-3481 by BYK is 100% silicone-based surfactant for aqueous systems. It strongly reduces surface tension in liquid coatings and improves substrate wetting. It shows excellent defoaming properties and anti-cratering effect combined with good leveling properties. It requires a small proportion of organic cosolvents. It can be used in two-pack PU, two-pack epoxy, styrene-acrylic emulations, water-based baking and water-based UV systems. BYK®-3481 is particularly suitable for clearcoats, coatings and spray applications. It is used in food contact printing and packaging inks. It is especially recommended for marine-, protective- and general industrial coatings. It is also recommended for automotive-, architectural-, floor-, wood- and furniture coatings. The usage level is 0.05-0.5% based on total formulation.
