OPTIGEL® -WX

Organically modified and activated smectite. Acts as a rheology modifier/thickner. It prevents the settling of heavy pigments of fillers. It is hydrophilic & easily wetted by water and should be introduced in water at initial dispersion phase. It swells in cold water and the use of warm water improves & accelerates the delamination or dispersion. It is stable in diluted acids & bases and is particularly effective in acidic, neutral as well as alkaline systems. Used in emulsion-, water reducible- & silicate- paints. Also used in release coatings, car undercoatings, paint strippers and inks. The recommended dosage is 0.3% to 2%.
