OPTIGEL® -WA

Hydrophilic organically modified and activated smectite. Acts as a rheology modifier/thickener. It has high swelling capacity, neutral pH-value and is particularly effective in neutral & alkaline systems. Prevents the settling of heavy pigments or fillers and inhibits sagging. It is hydrophilic and easily wetted by water. It swells in cold water and the use of warm water improves & accelerates the delamination or dispersion. It should be introduced to the water in the initial dispersion phase. Used in textured coatings and emulsion-, silicon-resin based- & water reducible- paints. The recommended dosage level is 0.3 to 2%.
