NANOBYK® -3603

NANOBYK® -3603 by Byk (Altana Group) is a VOC-free, aluminum oxide nanoparticle dispersion in water. Acts as a surface additive to improve the scratch resistance of aqueous systems. Shows properties such as gloss and transparency. As the aluminum oxide nanoparticles are very small, it is even suitable for highly transparent and high-gloss coatings and can be used in clear or pigmented systems. Provides long-term protection against scratching. Can be utilized in aqueous coatings, radiation-curable systems and also in acrylate-, self-crosslinking acrylate-, styrene acrylate-, urethane acrylate- and aliphatic polyester polyurethane- dispersions. NANOBYK® -3603 is used in architectural coatings, industrial coatings and wood & furniture coatings. Recommended dosage is 1-5% of additive based upon total formulation.
