DISPERBYK® -168

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by BYK
DISPERBYK® -168 by BYK is an aromatic-free wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-borne and solvent-free radiation-curable coatings and printing inks. It is a solution of higher molecular weight block copolymer with pigment affinic groups. It provides a uniform electrical charge to pigment surfaces. It offers deflocculation and steric stabilization for pigments. It improves levelling, and allows high pigment loading. It increases gloss, color strength, and transparency. It shortens dispersion time and lowers viscosity. It is used for radiation-curable industrial-, can- and coil coatings. DISPERBYK® -168 is suitable for food contact printing inks, UV-curable flexo and offset printing inks. Its recommended dosage level for inorganic pigment is 10-15%, organic pigment is 30-90%, titanium dioxide is 5-6% and carbon black is 70-140%. For printing inks, addition level for titanium dioxides is 2.5-5% and for organic pigments & carbon black is 10-20%. It has a shelf life of 60 months.
