BYK® -3451

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by BYK
BYK®-3451 By BYK is polyether-modified siloxane. It is a silicone surfactant for aqueous printing inks and overprint varnishes, inkjet inks & aqueous coatings. It provides a significant reduction in surface tension. It offers improved wetting on very non-polar substrates such as polyethylene, polypropylene and coated offset paper. It possesses good leveling and excellent spreading capabilities. It can stabilize foam and can be combined with polysiloxane such as BYK-333 or BYK-3760 to offer slip. It is used in thin-layered applications. It is designed for use in formulations that do not contain co-solvents. It can be used in architectural coatings based on styrene-acrylic, pure acrylate, PU-acrylate combinations, polyurethanes and alkyd emulsions. The dosage level of BYK®-3451 is 0.1-1% for printing inks & overprint varnishes, 0.1-1.5% for inkjet ink and 0.1-0.5% for architectural coatings based on total formulation.
