Octa-Soligen® 69

Cobalt and zirconium carboxylates in mixture dissolved in white-spirit containing less than 2% aromatics. Acts as a combination drier. It is of low-viscosity, readily meterable and lead-free. Cobalt attributes to rapid surface drying while zirconium functions as an active auxiliary drier, promoting through-drying. The balanced ratio of the metals cobalt and zirconium in Octa-Soligen® 69 yields optimum results in respect of initial- and through-drying. Cloudiness and precipitation do not occur. Can be used in all binder systems which dry by oxidation and is particularly suitable for white and light-colored paints. Particularly recommended for solvent borne coating systems. Application includes wood and general industrial coatings. Dosage rate lies within 0.25 and 1.00% relative to the solid binder, depending on the binder and the pigment system. This is equivalent to a cobalt content of 0.015 to 0.060 %. Metal salts are approved for food contact as per FDA CFR 21: § 175.300 (b)(3)(xxii).
