Borchi® Gen 1459

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Borchers (Milliken)
Borchi® Gen 1459 by Borchers is a solution of a high molecular weight polycarboxylic acid polymer and a polysiloxane copolymer in xylene. Acts as a wetting- and dispersing agent. It shortens the dispersion process and efficiently deflocculates pigments yielding excellent color strength and high gloss. Prevents settling and re-flocculation in paints even after prolonged storage. Especially effective in preventing flooding and floating combinations of titanium dioxide with other pigments. Borchi® Gen 1459 is used to inhibit Benard cell formation and improve slip, flow and levelling. It is very effective in stabilizing aluminum pigments and flatting pastes. It has limited compatibility in coatings systems containing mineral spirits and other aliphatic solvents. Compatible with polyurethane, epoxies and nitrocellulose based resins. Suitable for titanium dioxide, carbon black, organic and inorganic pigment pastes. Recommended for medium to high polarity solvent based systems. The dosage rates are 0.5-2.5% for titanium dioxide, 3-10% for inorganic pigments, 10-20% for organic pigments and 50-80% for carbon black.
