Irgarol® 1051

Irgarol® 1051 by BASF is N’-tert-butyl-N-cyclopropyl-6-(methylthio)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine. Acts as an algaecide. Offers very slow leaching rates, extended antifouling action, low biological activity to animals in general, including fish, shellfish and humans. Can be combined with copper or copper compounds such as cuprous oxide or copper thiocyanate. Used in long life anti-fouling coatings for marine applications. Irgarol® 1051 can also be used as the sole biologically active ingredient in coatings for mariculture devices such as fish nets or oyster racks.
